This is Sam Fee, the captain of the team. She's one of the wrestlers I'll be focusing on for this project.
Making weight can be a struggle for wrestlers. The use of plastics to cut weight is legal in women's wrestling but not in men's. I'm curious to find out why.

I think that unfortunately the use of plastics has not been regulated for women's wrestling because there are not as many cases of fatal trama like the men's side. Also our sport has not been around long enough yet, so the thought and care for things like that have not yet been fully enforced. The sad thing is that we concider ourselves lucky to be able to use plastics, because killing ourselves to make weight is a miserable part of this sport.
Jenn,
I really like what I'm seeing on the wrestling project. You rock! Your unique way of seeing a subject shines through, and I'm pleasantly surprised by the complexity of character in these images.
Looking forward to what comes next.
what are plastics? what does that mean?
