weighing in

This is Sam Fee, the captain of the team. She's one of the wrestlers I'll be focusing on for this project.

Making weight can be a struggle for wrestlers. The use of plastics to cut weight is legal in women's wrestling but not in men's. I'm curious to find out why.

Got to see Charlie and the kids for a few minutes the other day. The family has been struggling a lot and I've had a hard time catching up with them. Michele has been in STL staying with her family and the kids and has a restraining order against Charlie. There is a custody hearing tomorrow morning here in Columbia- Michele was kicked out by her family over the weekend and her aunt is trying to get custody of the kids. She had filed for divorce but plans not to follow through with it now. Baby Charlie Jr. is huge and strong, and Ka'Mel and Derek seem well.

the family

miss america

Oh, the things we do in the middle of the middle of America to entertain ourselves...
The evening was complete with a talent competition and prom dresses that still fit. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

daniel, danielle, or dani

Meet Daniel Roe. Daniel is a Vietnam era vet discharged in 1969 for psychological reasons. He was married for over twenty years, worked in a foundry, and has three grown children. Daniel began cross dressing last May shortly after he met his partner Stacey who had just gotten out of an abusive relationship with three young children. The two support each other in their creative pursuits including poetry, writing, and music as well as raise the children together. Daniel just served a six month sentence in Camden County for a DWI and is waiting to begin receiving an SSI check to help support the family financially.

Daniel will be the subject of my character profile for picture story. On my first visit yesterday, we mainly did a lot of talking, so I recorded more audio than I shot. Looking forward to spending more time on this.

more wrestling

The light stinks. I've got lots of work to do...

bad ass

Spent my first weekend back from break in Cedar Falls, Iowa at the first big college wrestling tournament of the season. Coach Murphree and the ladies of the Missouri Valley College Women's Wrestling Team will be the subjects of a project I am working on this semester with an awesome writer. I'm totally gonna become more hard core like them. Watch out!
