there's nothing like shelling on a sunny day to lift the spirits. i love florida in the winter when the beach is undisturbed, especially at fort desoto, one of my favorites...
exploring the beach with my camera reminded me of the wonder and amazement i found in simple things when i was just beginning to take pictures.

I'm usually not too skittish around critters, but those things in the first picture scare the bejesus out of me. Thanks in advance for the lack of sleep.
i LOVE the detail in the horseshoe crab. and really beautiful colors that add a tangibility (is that a word?) to the image... makes me miss the ocean!
